The Atlético de Madrid 2026-27 Third Jersey delivers a distinctly retro-inspired alternative look, built around a muted light-grey base with horizontal red and dark-blue striping across the body and sleeves. Atlético officially unveiled the third kit on 24 August 2026, confirming the grey colour scheme and six horizontal bands incorporating the club’s traditional red and blue.

A classic dark-blue polo-style collar gives the shirt a strong late-1990s and early-2000s football aesthetic, while thin blue lines accompany the more prominent red horizontal bands. The complete third strip continues the grey theme through the shorts and socks.

The design also has a deliberate historical connection. Its retro styling references the football-shirt aesthetic of 1996, a landmark year in Atlético history when the club completed the famous La Liga and Copa del Rey domestic double.

The result is a third shirt that feels substantially different from Atlético’s traditional red-and-white home colours while still incorporating the club’s identity through its red and dark-blue detailing.

  • Season Information

    Season/Year: 2026/27
    Club: Atlético de Madrid
    Country: Spain
Competition: La Liga / Copa del Rey / UEFA Champions League / Supercopa de España
    Kit Type: Third Jersey

The 2026/27 season continues Atlético de Madrid’s long-running era under Diego Simeone, who remains head coach. The current squad combines established Atlético players with a significantly refreshed group following the 2026 summer transfer period.

Atlético are competing in the UEFA Champions League during the campaign. They opened their league-phase schedule away at Liverpool in September, with Marcos Llorente scoring Atlético’s goal in a 2–1 defeat at Anfield.

The club also qualified for the 2027 Supercopa de España after reaching the previous season’s Copa del Rey final. Atlético are scheduled to face Barcelona in the semi-final, adding another major competition to their 2026/27 calendar.

The current first-team squad includes Julián Alvarez, Alexander Sørloth, Ademola Lookman, Jonathan David, Lee Kang-in, Álex Baena, Pablo Barrios, Koke, Marcos Llorente, Giuliano Simeone and Alejandro Grimaldo. Atlético’s current squad listing confirms their 2026/27 numbers as J. ALVAREZ 19, SØRLOTH 9, LOOKMAN 11, J. DAVID 15, KANG IN 7, ÁLEX B. 10, BARRIOS 8, KOKE 6, MARCOS LLORENTE 14, GIULIANO 20 and GRIMALDO 22.

One notable new arrival is Jonathan David, who joined Atlético on loan for the 2026/27 campaign. The Canadian striker arrived after representing Canada at the 2026 World Cup, where he scored three goals, and he is his country’s all-time leading scorer with 42 international goals.

The shirt’s 1996-inspired character is especially appropriate for Atlético. The 1995/96 season remains one of the defining campaigns in club history, with Atlético winning both La Liga and the Copa del Rey. The third jersey uses a modern grey colour scheme while drawing stylistically on football designs from that era.

  • Rec. Player Printing Options

    Printing Recommendation
    J. ALVAREZ 19 One of the most recognisable current Atlético choices. Julián Alvarez wears No.19 and remains a major figure in the club’s attacking line for 2026/27.
ÁLEX B. 10 A strong Spanish-player option. Álex Baena wears the prestigious No.10 and is an important creative presence in Atlético’s current midfield and attack.
LOOKMAN 11 A distinctive attacking choice. Ademola Lookman wears No.11 and adds pace, direct running and versatility to Atlético’s forward group.
KANG IN 7 An excellent international option. Lee Kang-in wears the iconic No.7 and provides creativity and technical quality across several attacking positions.
    J. DAVID 15 A particularly relevant 2026/27 choice. Jonathan David joined Atlético for the current campaign and wears No.15, bringing an established international goalscoring record.
BARRIOS 8 A strong club-development choice. Pablo Barrios wears No.8 and represents the younger generation that has established itself in Atlético’s first team.
MARCOS LLORENTE 14 An established Atlético option. Marcos Llorente wears No.14 and remains one of the squad’s most versatile players, contributing across midfield and wide positions.
GIULIANO 20 A strong Atlético-connected choice. Giuliano Simeone wears No.20 and has developed into an important member of the current first-team squad.

    J. ALVAREZ 19 is a particularly prominent current-player printing for the Atlético de Madrid 2026-27 Third Jersey.

Julián Alvarez continues to wear No.19 in Atlético’s current squad and remains part of an attacking group that now also includes Sørloth, Lookman and Jonathan David.

His connection to the current Atlético generation is also strengthened by his international profile. Alvarez was among the Atlético players who represented Argentina at the 2026 World Cup, with the club having ten players represented across Argentina and Spain in the final.

ÁLEX B. 10 provides a strong alternative built around Atlético’s current Spanish core, while KANG IN 7 and LOOKMAN 11 offer particularly clean traditional attacking numbers. BARRIOS 8 is an attractive option for a printing with a stronger connection to Atlético’s younger first-team generation.
