The campaign marked the beginning of Robert Lewandowski’s Lech Poznań career, with the young Polish striker wearing the No.8 shirt and scoring 14 league goals in his debut Ekstraklasa season. Lech finished third in the league, lifted the Polish Cup and also enjoyed an impressive European campaign, reaching the Round of 32 of the UEFA Cup.
The squad also featured Bosnian playmaker Semir Štilić, Polish internationals Rafał Murawski and Sławomir Peszko, Peruvian striker Hernán Rengifo, and Colombian defender Manuel Arboleda.
